Feasibility of the process design?

For the design of the process flow, if it is an old, existing process, feasibility can be assessed by referring to other projects that have already been built. But for a relatively new process, how is feasibility assessed? Some things may seem feasible in theory, but how practical are they in reality?
New processes generally need to go through stages such as laboratory pilot tests, pilot plant trials, and industrial trials before they can be applied in industrial facilities.
It seems there’s no quick and easy solution!
Generally, it progresses from pilot scale to pilot plant scale; only if the pilot plant results are representative is design for full-scale production facilities undertaken. Additionally, simulation software might be much more useful.
New processes need to be tested to determine their feasibility and the optimization of relevant parameters. Major processes require evaluation by an expert group to assess their reliability.
