While those so-called 985 and 211 students were still in school, you already knew how to play PUBG (video games)； When they endured the overwhelming amount of idol dramas on Hunan TV and focused on *the topic* ； When they get up at six o’clock every day, carry their heavy homework load to school, and give up the comfort of their warm beds, I can then understand just how strong their self-control and ability to endure hardship are. I might be able to believe that you have more potential than them and that your IQ is higher than theirs, but it’s hard for me to believe that someone who can’t even persevere through the college entrance exam could be valuable to my company. It’s less about them being paid more because they graduated from 985 or 211 universities, and more about it being a reward for their self-discipline and resilience over many years. This society does not believe in your talents and potential; it only believes in your actions and hard work. Rather than being a form of selection, the college entrance exam is more like a summary of the first eighteen years of our lives. Regardless of the grades achieved, as long as we have obtained them through genuine and honest effort, it is something worthy of respect and pride. The reason for striving to study hard and obtain a degree from a prestigious university is to enjoy a better quality of life, and to have the right to refuse others at any time. Pain stems from coercion; the ability to refuse others at any time is a freedom of the individual, and moreover, a freedom of dignity. But no matter what kind of freedom it is, we need to have the means and confidence to speak out loudly about it. Twenty years from now, you might be an ordinary employee in a company, doing a job that isn’t even considered ordinary, in a position that’s utterly insignificant; faced with repeated requests to work late into the night, you can only accept it silently. And if you work hard to obtain a degree from a reputable university, pass various qualification exams, and gain experience over the years, you will become a pillar of society and lead a decent life. You will be excellent at your job, and you’ll be able to refuse extra hours easily. Only by investing time and maintaining the right mindset can you discover the beauty in life. I hope everyone can clearly understand that the college entrance exam is not a form of pressure imposed on you by your parents and teachers; it is an opportunity for you to fulfill your own responsibilities. When you feel unable to go on, think about whether you will forgive yourself in 20 years – I believe you will make the right choice. Wish all students success in their studies and a bright future!
