Jia Yueting, male of Han ethnicity, was born on February 6, 1973, in Xiangfen County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province. He is the founder of LeEco Holdings Group and the global chairman of the LeEco automotive ecosystem. LeEco was founded in 2004 and listed on the GEM board in August 2010. It is committed to creating a complete ecosystem of \"platform + content + terminal + application\" based on the video industry, content industry, and smart terminals; this approach is known in the industry as the \"LeEco model\". On the evening of July 27, LeEco (300104) received notification from its controlling shareholder Jia Yueting that all of the shares in LeEco that he directly held had been frozen. On November 10, 2017, LeEco issued a statement stating that Jia Yueting, in his response, indicated his inability to fulfill his commitments regarding the interest-free loans and share purchases, expressing \"profound apologies\" for this; on December 12, Jia Yueting was added to the list of persons who fail to fulfill their obligations, with the Beijing No. 3 Intermediate People’s Court being the court responsible for enforcing such actions. On October 9, 2018, Jia Yueting, the largest shareholder of LeEco, had reduced his holdings in the company by 22.019128 million shares compared to June 30. On April 29, 2019, the China Securities Regulatory Commission decided to launch an investigation into Jia Yueting; on July 26, the commission issued a statement announcing a special public listing of entities that have committed serious violations of laws and regulations in the securities and futures market. Jia Yueting was added to the blacklist.
