Haha, while others cite a bunch of references to show their wide knowledge, this article takes a different approach and is unique in its style. I still admire it; after all, it requires courage and insight, and the reasons are clearly explained.

Qian Weichang (October 9, 1912 – July 30, 2010), from Wuxi, Jiangsu, was a world-renowned scientist, educator, and outstanding social activist. After graduating from the Department of Physics at Tsinghua University in 1935, he was admitted to the graduate school at the same university. In 1940, he went to the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Toronto in Canada to study*, focusing on elasticity theory, and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1942. He has served as the deputy director and researcher at the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the head of the preparatory office and director at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the academic secretary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; the head of the Organization Department of the All-China Federation of Scientific and Technical Societies; the deputy secretary-general of the All-China Youth Federation; a member of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League; the deputy dean, dean, and vice president of Tsinghua University; the president of Shanghai University of Technology; the president of Shanghai University; the honorary president of Zhangzhou Vocational University; the honorary dean of Shazhou Vocational Institute; the honorary president and chairman emeritus of Nanjing University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics; the honorary president and chairman emeritus of Jiangnan University; the honorary president and chairman of Jinan University; the honorary chairman of Yangzhou University; the honorary president of the High School affiliated to Shanghai University; the honorary president of Tianjin Yaohua Middle School; the editor-in-chief of the journal \"Applied Mathematics and Mechanics\" published by Chongqing Jiaotong University; the honorary president of the Shanghai Association of Returned Overseas Students; the president of the China Association for International Exchange; and the president of the China Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association, among other positions. Qian Weichang was proficient in applied mathematics, mechanics, physics, and Chinese informatics, and made significant contributions in fields such as elastic mechanics, the variational principle, and perturbation methods.

Perhaps this is some kind of aura associated with masters, but it’s not necessary to be a master either; it depends on the topic and depth of the paper……
