Difficulty in choosing a job; I hope fellow entomologists can help analyze it

I work at a research institute in Nanjing that is controlled by a small stakeholder; it functions as a private enterprise. The salary before taxes is 25, with low contributions to pension and health insurance plans, and a total of 3K in housing fund contributions on both sides. There is a housing subsidy for three years, a shuttle service is provided, and the working hours are 6 per day – it’s a very relaxed job with no stress. I get full leave on weekends and public holidays. My home is quite close by (I’m from Anhui), but the progress of projects here is very slow; currently there are no active projects. There are ongoing trials related to large-scale projects with Sinopec, and we face significant financial pressures. Without any new projects, we can barely make it through another year. The biggest issue is that confidentiality requirements are extremely strict, which prevents me from integrating into the core R&D team; as a result, I can’t develop my skills, which is very detrimental in the long term. However, both of my children go to school in Nanjing (I don’t own a house there), so it’s complicated to take action. Personally, I think the patented technology is very advanced, but the leader is a professor who is poor at management, has very weak execution skills, and results in low efficiency. Hebei is home to large private enterprises; it’s located by the sea and far from the city. There are shuttle buses running back and forth daily. The position involves being in charge of a workshop; it’s a dangerous job with high stress. The salary after taxes is 36, and there are only 40 days off per year. The working hours are 8 hours per day. Housing is provided (not personal property). The spouse has a job, and the children go to school. There’s no familiar environment or acquaintances in this place. If one spends their entire career in manufacturing, it can be beneficial for their personal development. But I think Nanjing is a very good city; how should I make my choice?

The main reason is that I haven’t bought a house in Nanjing, and my job there is not stable
If you don’t have two children, I would advise you to embrace the challenge without hesitation. Have you thought carefully about the resources needed for their education, medical care, and so on? Should I consider facing the challenge together with my wife and child?
25 and 36 are pretty good incomes. How is 40 days of annual leave calculated? If weekends and holidays are not included, how can there still be so many days off? What more is expected?

There are also over fifty days in a year under the 996 work schedule; this goes against Western principles, and failure to fulfill social responsibilities will lead to resistance
In China, these things are completely useless. My former deputy spent only 3.5 days at work per year, with no weekends or holidays; he could never go home even during the Spring Festival
It’s really hard to choose; even looking at it makes me feel conflicted.
It is irresponsible for the vice president to take only 3 days off throughout the year, putting the company at risk
It’s better to stay in Nanjing; big cities should offer better opportunities for development. I can also look for better job prospects there. If I want to take on challenges, I should do so on my own, without bringing my wife and children along.
