The Chaoyang Public Security Bureau reported that at around 12 p.m. on June 12, 2021, Wang Mounian (male, 54 years old) went to the Olympic Village Police Station of the Chaoyang Public Security Bureau to file a report, stating that on June 6 he and Wu Mourong (female, 85 years old) were assaulted by unknown individuals in a residential complex in Chaoyang District. According to the investigation by the public security authorities: at around 7 p.m. on June 6, Zhang and Wang Mounian, Wu Mourong, and others were dining together at a restaurant, and during that time, Zhang and Wang Mounian had a verbal argument after drinking alcohol. At around 22:00, Zhang and his colleague took Wu Morong and Wang Wannian to a residential complex in the Chaoyang District, respectively. At around 22:40, Zhang and Wang had another argument, and later, in the hallway of Wang’s apartment building as well as in the elevator, Zhang kicked and punched Wang several times. During this period, Wu Mourong fell to the ground twice while trying to dissuade them, as she was pulled and bumped by Zhang Mou. At around 23:18, Zhang was persuaded away by his colleagues, and Wang Mounian and Wu Mourong went upstairs to go home. Later, Wu Mourong called 120 due to feeling unwell; Zhang Mou accompanied her to the hospital for treatment, while Wang Mounian stayed at home resting. According to the police report, in this case, Wang went to two Class-A tertiary hospitals on June 11 and June 14 respectively, and the hospitals reached different diagnoses regarding the damage to his ribs. In accordance with the relevant regulations on injury assessment, imaging reexamination should be conducted based on the clinical conditions of tissue damage and recovery; a formal assessment opinion can only be issued once there is sufficient objective evidence and a clear understanding of the injury. Meanwhile, after the incident, Wu Mourong remained in the hospital and was unable to undergo reexaminations or provide complete medical records; relevant medical records and reexaminations must be submitted after she is discharged before a formal assessment of her injuries can be conducted. Based on this, the police continue to consult with relevant hospitals and forensic institutions to monitor the progress of the injury assessment. Based on the progress of his recovery, Wang went back to the hospital for a follow-up examination on July 5. Following a consultation among experts, the forensic appraisal agency issued a determination stating that the injury constituted a minor injury of grade two.
