Five confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Ejin Horo Banner, Inner Mongolia. The COVID-19 prevention and control command center in Ejin Horo Banner issued a statement stating that on October 18, 2021, upon receiving notification from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s Comprehensive Disease Control Center regarding positive nucleic acid test results for two tourists from Shaanxi Province, Yan and Jiang, the command center promptly began investigating the movements of these eight individuals in Ejin Horo Banner, as well as their close and secondary contacts. Through epidemiological investigations and nucleic acid testing, as well as diagnosis by clinical experts in the autonomous region, as of 0:40 on October 19, 5 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified. Meanwhile, 2 cases with positive preliminary COVID-19 nucleic acid test results are under reevaluation. All 7 individuals have been transferred to the negative-pressure wards of designated hospitals for isolation, treatment, and monitoring, and relevant screening and control measures are being carried out in depth. In order to effectively safeguard the lives and health of the general population throughout the region and to carry out epidemic prevention and control measures in a thorough manner, the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command of Ejin Horo Banner has decided that, starting at 9:00 on October 19, universal nucleic acid testing will be conducted across the entire banner (including permanent residents, migrant workers, and those staying there for a short period of time). All persons currently in Dala Hubu Town, Ejin Horo Banner, are asked to voluntarily comply with the arrangements made by the relevant agencies, community officials, and staff at the sampling sites; they should go to the designated sampling sites at the scheduled times for nucleic acid testing. They should inform one another and cooperate actively to ensure that everyone who needs to be tested does so, so that no household or individual is left out.
