Does Dg also represent the nominal diameter?

Does Dg also denote the nominal diameter? Some people say that Dn is used for this purpose – is it a different version or a different way of representation from Dg?
DG seems to have been used in machinery in the past; it’s no longer used now, and DN is used instead.

Pg and Dg are the terms used in the old flange standard JB81-59 issued by the Ministry of Machinery to denote nominal pressure and diameter; in JB/T81-94, they have been replaced by PN and DN. :lol
