Change name and surname! Chinese table tennis players gaining Korean citizenship sparks controversy; Shasha and Chen Meng face challenges, while the overweight player needs to reflect
The Korean Table Tennis Association has announced the lists of players who will compete in the Chengdu World Table Tennis Championships and the Hangzhou Asian Games. Ten players have been selected for these competitions; 9 of them made it onto the list through competitive selection, while Tian Zhixi was included due to her high world ranking. As is well known, Tian Zhixi gave up her Chinese citizenship to take on South Korean citizenship in order to play for South Korea, becoming the leading player in the South Korean women’s table tennis team.
