To all relevant departments: “Rural revitalization” is a major strategy mandated by the ****State Council, and “ecological revitalization” is one of the five key aspects of rural revitalization. The No. 1 Central Document for 2022, titled \"**Opinions of the Central Committee and the State Council on Carrying Out Key Tasks for the Comprehensive Promotion of Rural Revitalization in 2022**,\" sets out specific requirements for continuing with the five-year initiative to improve the rural living environment, ensuring proper water supply and sewage treatment, accelerating the remediation of polluted water bodies in rural areas, promoting waste sorting and reduction at the source as well as the improvement of sanitation facilities in rural areas, and advancing efforts to clean up villages and enhance their greenery and aesthetics. To advance rural development in a solid and steady manner and make new progress in rural revitalization, as well as to plan for, implement, and support the ecological revitalization of rural areas, the China Environmental Protection Federation, together with the Social Services Department of the Agrarian Workers’ Party, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Shanghai University, the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Agrarian Workers’ Party, and the Jiangxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology, is hosting the “Rural Revitalization and Environmental Development Forum, the Second Forum on Water Environment Management and Industry Development in Towns and Villages, and Exhibition of Achievements in Technologies and Equipment for Rural Revitalization and Environmental Management”. The event will be held from August 9 to 11, 2022, in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and it will be organized by the Water Environment Management Professional Committee of the China Environmental Protection Federation. The details of the event are as follows: 1. Theme of the event: Improving the rural living environment and building beautiful, healthy villages. 2. Date and location: August 9–11, 2022 (registration throughout the day on the 9th), Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province (specific location to be determined). 3. Scale of the event: 1,200 participants in conferences, with an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters. 4. Participants: Leaders and representatives in charge of rural environmental issues from departments such as those responsible for ecological environment, rural revitalization, housing and urban-rural development, agriculture and rural affairs, water resources, as well as development and reform ； 2. Leaders and representatives in charge of village and town development at all local levels ； 3. Representatives of the Agricultural Workers’ Party committees in various provinces (cities) and representatives of members of the China Environmental Protection Federation ； 4. Experts and scholars across the country who are engaged in research, engineering, design, monitoring, testing, operation, maintenance, planning, consulting, and equipment development related to water environment management technologies ； 5. Individuals passionate about environmental management in villages and towns as well as their development, along with media representatives. V. Activities The event consists of an opening ceremony, a comprehensive forum on rural revitalization, discussions on regional coordinated development for rural revitalization, sessions on the protection of drinking water sources and improvement of water quality in villages and towns, seminars on wastewater treatment technologies in such areas, workshops on the treatment of polluted water bodies and ecological restoration of water environments, sessions on waste management and resource utilization in villages and towns, forums on rural revitalization and environmental protection, as well as a summit on innovative development in smart water environment management. Leaders from agricultural and industrial sectors ****, officials from relevant ministries and local ** authorities, as well as industry academicians and experts will be invited to attend and deliver important speeches and keynote presentations. Representatives from various regions, industry managers, experts and scholars, as well as representatives from enterprises and institutions will also participate and give theme speeches and engage in thematic discussions. During the same period, an exhibition of achievements and technical equipment in rural revitalization and environmental governance will be held. Focused on the themes of rural revitalization and environmental development, the exhibition will feature two exhibition areas dedicated to achievements and technical equipment. Through images, text, videos, audio, and interactive experiences, it will provide a comprehensive and multi-faceted overview of the accomplishments achieved in rural revitalization and rural environmental governance, as well as the technical equipment required for such governance. After the meeting, a visit was made to the demonstration projects for rural revitalization and rural environmental improvement in Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province. VI. Call for Papers, Presentations, and Case Studies 1. Paper Submission: Papers should be prepared in line with the theme and content of the conference, taking into account the latest policies, theories, methods, technologies, and engineering practices. The abstract should not exceed 300 words, while the full text should not exceed 5,000 words. The submitter is required to send the electronic version of the paper to the email address water_cn@acef-water.com.cn. The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2022; experts and scholars are encouraged to submit their work. 2. Call for presentations at the conference: The conference will solicit a wide range of presentation reports on relevant topics. The topics for these presentations should be related to, but not limited to, the content of the conference. Experts, scholars, and representatives from enterprises and institutions are encouraged to apply; those who are selected will speak at the conference as guests. 3. Collection of Typical Cases for Rural Ecological Revitalization: The conference will solicit outstanding solutions and model cases for rural ecological revitalization on a wide scale, compile and publish a \"Catalog of Recommended Typical Cases for Rural Ecological Revitalization,\" and release it during the conference. All recommending organizations are requested to compile the relevant materials as specified, and send the electronic version of the technical documents to the email address water_cn@acef-water.com.cn by July 15, 2022. 4. Collection of Typical Cases in the Treatment of Polluted Water Bodies in Villages and Towns: The conference will solicit outstanding technologies, equipment (products), solutions, and demonstration cases for the treatment of polluted water bodies in villages and towns, compile a \"Catalog of Recommended Typical Cases in the Treatment of Polluted Water Bodies in Villages and Towns,\" and release it during the conference.
