What is the function of the channel plate on the tray?

Channel plates usually have handles; it seems that’s their purpose. But there are also floating valves on them, which are also part of the tray. It just doesn’t have any folded edges.
1. It is itself part of the tray plate and also serves a role in mass transfer； 2. As the name implies, this panel is generally located in the center of the circular surface of the tray; when it is opened, it allows maintenance personnel to pass through, facilitating access up and down.
The purpose of setting up tray channels is for maintenance; they serve as access paths for maintenance personnel. If the tray internals would never get damaged, and there was no need for maintenance, then there would be no need to provide tray channels either. Of course, it is also part of the tray, providing a site for gas-liquid mass transfer.
