Our facility has six sets of pressure-driven distillation units, with an operating pressure of around 0.3 MPa. However, no safety valves have been installed at the top of the condensers; only self-regulating valves for discharging exhaust gases are present. According to relevant standards, such self-regulating valves cannot be considered safety devices, and they cannot ensure safety in the event of a failure. The design agency stated that the material in question is sensitive to temperature, so the pressure drops rapidly once heating is stopped, and therefore there is no need for safety valves. Is there any basis for this claim?
