Can we establish a HONEYWELL team, focusing on a PKS team? I will be responsible for HONEYWELL’s DCS systems, using PKS for that purpose
We used HONEYWELL in our factory before; it seems we stopped using it because of its high price. But I remember it’s quite useful; it holds up well
It seems that foreign DCS systems like HONEYWELL have much stronger software capabilities than those available in China – they offer more functions and are more powerful, though they are a bit more expensive
Domestic DCS systems are cheap, but their functions are not as strong as those of HONEYWELL, and their safety levels are also not as high as HONEYWELL’s!
Haven’t used it; there are quite a few from Yokogawa
In the old plants of our ethylene company, the DCS systems used for centralized control were of the Japanese Yokogawa C300 type; whereas for the DCS system used in the 450,000-ton ethylene production facility in its second phase, the Honeywell PKS R300 system from the United States has been adopted. The Honeywell PKS R300 DCS system is highly functional. Although the process operators are already accustomed to and skilled with the older Japanese Yokogawa C300 DCS system used in the old plant, they are just starting to work with the Honeywell PKS R300 DCS control system for the ethylene production facility; as a result, they may find it unfamiliar and even difficult to use smoothly. I believe this is a process of gradual adaptation, as well as integrating this new DCS system into actual process operations. I’m confident that it won’t take long before each of these process operators can become experts at operating this new DCS system...
Our company also uses HONEYWELL; if there are any issues, we can discuss them
Ours also uses Honeywell’s DCS, with dedicated personnel coming to provide training. It seems that Honeywell’s systems place a lot of emphasis on interconnections; perhaps this is to ensure the safety of plant operations
The HONEEYWELL DCS doesn’t have a human-machine interface as good as that of Yokogawa; it’s just the way Americans do things.
The PKS R200 we’re using currently has a high failure rate; we’ve already replaced 3 controllers, thanks to the warranty period! ! ! They replied that the failure rate of this batch of hardware is high.
