I’ve been working with instruments for over 6 years, always in a factory, and I find the job boring! Salaries don’t increase, and there’s little opportunity for advancement. I’m thinking about changing careers to work in the field of manufacturing or equipment maintenance. I’m not sure if that’s possible, how difficult it would be, and if there are any special requirements I would also appreciate it if everyone could offer some advice for my reference! Thank you!
Hehe, it’s definitely possible. Now that it comes down to process engineering, it’s relatively easier to learn, as the PID diagrams used in process engineering are already well-known in the field of instrumentation; people are familiar with control points. With an understanding of process principles added on top, one can definitely handle this task
It seems a bit easier this way! But I always feel that the manufacturing process isn’t that simple; those few PID charts alone aren’t enough to reflect anything. There are many other process parameters and material calculations as well – those are the real factors that matter! :handshake :handshake
I agree with what was said on the 3rd floor: it’s easy to understand the basics, but difficult to master them thoroughly. Some theoretical foundation is needed, so I think it’s not an easy task
Actually, it’s not that difficult; once you master the principles of chemical engineering, handling processes will be no problem at all

Switching from instrumentation to process control, or vice versa, I think is the most appropriate approach, but it involves a process. But I think such a combination is truly perfect.
