Are there any other uses for alkyd resins besides being used in paints? In the paint industry, there is little room for further development of alkyd resins – do they have any other uses?
A new use for alkyd resin putty – modifying tile grout – characterized by a new application of alkyd resin putty (1), beyond its traditional use in filling surfaces of metal and wooden products, namely in combination with white cement paste (2) to address the roughness and darkening of indoor floor tile grouts (3).

The resin should be chosen based on its intended use; what about other uses? Do we really have to use alkyd resin? In the paint industry, there is great potential for the development of alkyd resins. How many types of alkyd resins are there?
