I’ve just started working with DEH systems; I’m involved in the design of a 20MW power generation unit that also supplies steam to the entire plant. This can be considered a small-scale system, with steam supply being the main function. Steam at a pressure of 3.92 MPa needs to be extracted. I would like to ask the experts here: is it better to use a extraction-condensation cycle or a back-pressure extraction cycle?

DEH is primarily responsible for the speed control of the turbine. TSI is generally not referred to as a safety protection system, as it can be misleading. TSI is the turbine safety instrument system. TSI only checks the safety status of the turbine. Such as displacement, vibration, temperature, etc. If the parameters are out of range, TSI will send a signal to ETS; it is ETS that carries out the actual safe shutdown. ETS is the turbine emergency shutdown system; there are various terms used to translate it, and even up to ten years ago some people still referred to it as the turbine emergency cut-off system. It means the same thing anyway. For those in the chemical industry, ETS can be understood as ESD specifically designed for turbines.
These systems are generally provided as a package by turbine manufacturers; it seems there aren’t many companies that develop them separately.
If these systems are developed separately, wouldn’t it be inconvenient to maintain them? Is it rather troublesome during implementation when TSI uses the BN3500 framework, DEH uses 505E, and ETS uses a DCS system? We are planning to modify the system here to use TRICON exclusively, with TSI/DEH/DCS all integrated into the ITCC system.
