Let’s discuss the methods and approaches for treating wastewater from smelting systems, including acidic wastewater. This is currently a hot topic – **a policy will be introduced that prohibits the discharge of process water under any circumstances!**
There are many types of smelting wastewater, and the composition of the water varies as well; For materials containing precious metals, metal recycling can be carried out; acidic wastewater can also be processed to remove salts using concentrated acid, thereby recovering dilute sulfuric acid ; In cases where there are no precious metals and dilute sulfuric acid cannot be recycled, the wastewater can be purified and purified again to achieve zero wastewater discharge.

There are chemical and electrolytic methods for precious metal recovery, but they come at a high cost; I’m not sure if there are any more practical and effective methods available nowadays
The acid in the wastewater is extracted using extraction methods; this acid can be reused. After extraction, the acidity of the wastewater **decreases (it can be reduced to neutral levels)**, thereby reducing the costs associated with neutralization.
Wastewater treatment in the smelting system is a challenging issue. Lime is generally used for neutralization to remove most heavy metals. If arsenic is present, PFS is added for flocculation and sedimentation. It works very well. It can be 5 to 10 times lower than the **standard. But the downside is a large amount of slag. Landfill management is difficult.

If the main component in the wastewater is sodium chloride, at a concentration of 10–20 g/l. Are there any simple and easy solutions?
