Due to the shortage of oil resources, processing technologies for heavy oil have developed rapidly. As a mature process for processing heavy oil, what are the current domestic production capacity and output levels for delayed coking?

I only have data for CNPC from 2004 and 2005; the total processing volume in 2005 was 15.2 million tons. The yield of gasoline and diesel was 51.20%, the yield of wax oil was 16.98%, and the yield of coke was 21.50%. In 2004, the total processing volume was 11.2804 million tons. The yield of gasoline and diesel was 48.59%, the yield of wax oil was 19.66%, and the yield of coke was 21.13%. You can make an approximate estimate based on these data. However, coking has indeed become more prominent in these two years, and data in this area needs to be taken into full consideration.

China ranks second in the world in terms of delayed coking capacity, simply because it lacks large-scale facilities. The scale is generally small.

Our refinery has two units of delayed coking with a capacity of 1.4 million tons each. (The residue from the imported crude oil is processed by a VRDS plant with a capacity of 840,000 tons per year.) A third delayed coking unit is under planning.
