In the northern regions, enterprises that produce synthetic ammonia experience thin snow falling from the sky even on sunny winter mornings. Are all the factories in the north in this condition? We haven’t observed such a phenomenon here; instead, there is a thin layer of gray dust that drifts down from the sky even on sunny days. Guess what might be causing this: could it be that the cooling towers disperse too much water vapor, which then rises into the air, condenses into snow, and falls back down? We are a factory in Hebei; we haven’t noticed anything wrong with the owner’s hand.
Our company is on the north bank of the Yellow River, and we have not experienced such phenomena. I agree with the view from the second floor; in the northeast, due to the extremely low temperatures, water vapor should condense into ice and snow.
Sometimes the water quality in the cooling tower is poor, causing bubbles to form; once those bubbles burst, they look like snowflakes, quite large snowflakes. Hehe… It’s just one possibility.
The atmospheric temperature is too low, and there should be a large amount of water vapor in the air where the enterprise is located; conduct a thorough investigation!
I’m from Daqing, Heilongjiang. The winter temperatures there are around -20°C; it’s considered part of the northern region. We’ve never seen the problem you mentioned before – it’s the first time we’ve heard of it.
Nothing like what the original poster described happened; our position is right next to the water supply and water cooling tower, and indeed foam has fallen from the tower at times
It should be the water supply system that adds chemicals to the circulating water, and then the cool air tower discharges the air containing those chemicals
It’s mainly the water vapor from the cooling tower that condenses and falls down; however, it’s not as serious as what the original poster said
Our factory is located in Henan, and indeed this phenomenon occurs there; it’s caused by the cooling towers. It really rains in summer and snows in winter. There is no good solution yet
