In continuous reforming, during regeneration, the oxygen content always fluctuates, which leads to thermal shutdowns. I would like to ask what might be the causes of this? The oxygen level gauge on site (imported) has just been replaced; I’m not sure if there’s another problem
I think the possible reasons could be: 1. Carbon content in the catalyst, 2. Rising rate of the regenerator, 3. Volume of the regeneration gas flow, 4. Coking temperature, 5. Problems with the oxygen supply control valve, 6. Large fluctuations in air pressure, 7. Large fluctuations in regenerator pressure. I hope everyone can fill in the gaps!
What a coincidence – our device is having the same problem; strangely, it was working fine before.
Is your reforming process UOP or IFP? Could you give a brief overview of your restructuring and the occurrences of such incidents? I think it would be more useful to discuss things in this way.

Find someone to calibrate the instrument! It’s very likely there’s a problem with the oxygen gauge! Not all imported products have to be good!
Specific problems need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. You can create a table listing all the factors that may affect the oxygen content in the regenerator; once the table is ready, you can have others analyze it using that table, and this way your technical skills will improve rapidly.
Is there still fluctuation when operating manually? Does it still fluctuate when both the air flow and emission levels are controlled manually, or when switching to black combustion mode? These high-temperature valves are prone to problems. Also, is the bed temperature fluctuating a lot? Large changes in oxygen levels lead to large fluctuations in temperature as well.
Check whether the air exhaust valve is unable to keep up It’s very easy for the situation you mentioned to occur!
If there are no issues with the oxygen meter and the air exhaust valve, check whether there are any fluctuations in the catalyst lift. Significant fluctuations in catalyst lift can have a major impact on the oxygen level. I hope this helps you.
