What is the general maximum temperature rise allowed for rolling bearings? ( ) 60-65 degrees Celsius, 40-50, 25-30. Thank you
Our company’s policy is to trigger an alarm at 75 degrees and cause the system to shut down at 90 degrees; assuming the ambient temperature in summer is 35 degrees, this means a temperature rise of 40 degrees.
This is a difficult question to answer, as the temperature of a bearing depends on its operating environment and purpose. Bearings that rotate at high speeds will certainly have higher operating temperatures; for example, the bearings in car wheels are not the same as those in the output shafts of gearboxes.

I basically agree with most of the above points; it should be added that the maximum allowable temperature rise of bearings depends on the type and properties of the grease used.

The temperature rise of bearings cannot be generalized; it varies depending on the operating environment and the type of lubrication used. When there is no lack of oil, the bearing temperature can reach over 60 degrees, and that’s no problem.
