So, anyone with good suggestions or ideas can come here to discuss them. Just to clarify, the monthly bonuses are distributed in the management office at the beginning of each month, so be sure to go and collect them: lol. The details of the responsibilities are as follows: Super Moderator: cjzhou2; Super Moderator Assistant: niuky. English Communication Forum – Moderators: wingman1985, wangkai6191. Chemical Engineering English Communication Forum – Moderators: niuky, ythwgh8, wingman1985, lllllljj, leteblink; Person in charge of moderation: niuky. General English Communication Forum – Moderators: zidian1982, hanshan, jaho; Person in charge of moderation: hanshan. Communication Forums for Other Languages (German, French, Russian, Japanese) – Moderator: (not yet assigned). Foreign Language Activities Forum – Moderator: niuky. The super moderator assistant is fully responsible for the development of each forum, as well as for selecting and appointing moderators and technical experts for these forums. I support it. I’m not sure if Fun English is really interesting; I hope to gain some experience from it, and I also want to give lessons to my Korean-speaking classmates
I’ve only been an official moderator for a few days and haven’t yet learned how to manage things, so I’ll wait until I do before offering any suggestions, hehe
Suggestion: Each moderator should create a post in their respective area that reads something like “The posts below have been read; the posts above have not.” That’s roughly what it means. If there are multiple moderators in one area but only one such post exists, it means that someone may have read the posts while you haven’t; therefore, it is recommended that each moderator create their own post and move it up once they have finished reading it, so as not to affect the other moderators. I’m not sure if I’ve made myself clear; please consider this, the moderators, and everyone else!

Cross-regional scoring is no longer allowed now. Do anyone have any solutions? Personally, I think: First, there are great materials and interesting topics available in other districts, but we’re not allowed to encourage them, which feels unfair; it’s even less restrictive than for regular members... Second, with such a large volume of tasks to complete each month, how are we supposed to handle that? After all, there aren’t many posts in some forums to begin with – just a few dozen per day – so it’s impossible to give points or make changes to every single post... That’s why I’m seeking advice from the moderators of the foreign language forums here; thank you all for your guidance!
Let me answer you; I think grading is just one of the management methods. When I distribute bonuses to everyone at the end, the number of management tasks performed is not the only criterion. As the site manager said, each area can make adjustments based on that standard; therefore, I will also take into account factors such as the number of posts and comments each person has written in their respective management areas when deciding who gets the bonuses.
Suggestion: This involves technical issues; it depends on whether the website can implement such control, and I personally think it’s quite complicated. Please consider this for an upgrade; if you think it is feasible, discuss it with the administrator. Thank you! First: Scores and management actions within one’s own management area are counted separately, making use of the moderator’s scoring and management privileges. The statistical results serve as a basis for moderators’ management decisions, as well as part of the criteria for awarding bonuses at the end of the month. Second: in areas other than those managed by the moderators. Moderators exercise the same rights as regular members; for example, if a moderator is in the third year of junior high school, they can assign 50 points per day (this is just an example and may not be accurate). In such cases, when this moderator comes across good posts in other sections or learns something from others, they can give appropriate scores to show their recognition of those others or their content. It’s also a way of encouraging Haiyou and recognizing the efforts of others! Take me for example; my major was storage and transportation, and now I work in process design. Generally, I find that the professional knowledge is related to areas such as the manufacturing process and anti-corrosion techniques – these are all part of my field of expertise. Now, I often find myself in situations where I can’t rate certain posts; it feels like I’m stealing something from others. Good posts shouldn’t go unrewarded; rating them at least represents an acknowledgment of the effort put in by the authors! Advantages of this method: 1. It prevents moderators from giving scores arbitrarily across different regions. 2. Grant moderators the rights of regular members in areas outside the management zone. 3. When one learns valuable knowledge from others, shares their good experiences and materials, it is appropriate to acknowledge their hard work. 4. Acknowledging others can boost their enthusiasm (let’s put it that way for now). ……Let’s list the benefits for now; we can add more once we think of them. The disadvantage of this method is that, in practice, it is difficult for websites to achieve such control. I have already posted the above content in the management office. What I want to emphasize is that we have learned from the hard work of members from other districts, shared their resources, and benefited from the help they provided to us; yet we fail to offer them encouragement or recognition. That’s why I wrote these suggestions – hoping that Haichuan will implement this principle, namely that we should acknowledge the hard work of others when we have learned from them or received their assistance!
The boss also said that it’s not possible technically at the moment to have moderators appear as members in areas that are not under their own management. Currently, the moderators don’t have rating rights in other sections; this is just a trial again, and if it doesn’t work, further changes will be needed. But in any case, doing a good job in one’s own district is a prerequisite. I hope it can be understood.
