In the batch distillation used in fine chemical production, distillation columns with smaller diameters are often employed. To improve distillation efficiency and reduce the height of the column, screen corrugated packing is generally chosen. The diameter of such columns can be as small as DN300, DN400, DN500, etc.; it’s too small for people to enter inside, and therefore the packing usually needs to consist of several sections, which have to be connected together. The issue lies in the selection and installation of the liquid redistributor. For screen corrugated packing, which has a very large specific surface area, high requirements are placed on the liquid redistributor; otherwise, the distillation efficiency will be significantly affected. Ordinary liquid redistributors include a liquid collection system and a liquid redistribution system. What do you think is the best type of liquid redistributor for such small-diameter distillation columns using screen corrugated packing, one that can ensure good distillation efficiency while also being easy to install and maintain?
A common collection redistributor or a tray-type distributor can be used. :)
I think the slot plate type redistributor is good; I can leave my email address for details on how to implement it
I think slot plate distributors are a good option; you can leave your email address if you know how to do it. Could you send me one if possible? My email is 415913580@qq.com
If high separation requirements exist, why not construct the tower in sections, installing redistributors at each section? The capital investment will not increase much, but this approach solves the problem of installing redistributors; for better results, a two-stage trough-type redistributor can be used, which yields excellent outcomes
