At what temperature does a mixture of glycerin and water in a 1:1 ratio freeze? I observed stratification and freezing occurring on site; does anyone know why this happens?
Glycerin is also known as glycerol; it is soluble in water. However, its melting point is 20 degrees Celsius, so it freezes when the temperature drops, and freezing causes it to separate into layers
