The oil pump should be started first, followed by the oil heating unit, and then the main engine. Heating the oil pump before it starts can easily cause localized overheating of the oil, and may even lead to accidents.
In environments with relatively low temperatures, the viscosity of lubricating oil that has not been properly preheated may be high, which is not conducive to the lubrication of equipment.
Some units have interlocks related to oil temperature during startup; if the temperature is below a certain value, startup is not permitted. When the oil temperature is low, the viscosity of the oil is high, and the thickness of the oil film is large, which is not conducive to lubricating each lubrication point. The pressure difference across the filter is high, the noise level of the oil pump is high, and there are significant fluctuations in current and pressure, which may lead to vacuum formation.
If the oil temperature is too low, its viscosity increases, which may result in a poor oil film formation in certain areas, leading to inadequate lubrication
When the oil temperature is low, the viscosity of the oil is high, and the thickness of the oil film becomes large, which is not conducive to lubricating various lubrication points. The pressure difference across the filter increases, and the noise level of the oil pump rises as well. Foreign compressors have mechanisms that regulate the oil temperature; generally, the compressor will not start if the oil temperature is below 15 degrees. The appropriate temperature for the lubricating oil is usually between 15 and 55 degrees – temperatures either too low or too high are not acceptable
When the oil temperature is too low, the viscosity of the oil is high; this prevents the formation of an adequate oil film during the startup of the unit, which is detrimental to bearing lubrication; If the oil temperature is too low, the oil becomes thicker, and the pressure difference across the oil filter increases, which is not favorable for the operation of the oil pump. It is generally stipulated that the machine may only be started when the oil temperature exceeds 25°C.
Simply starting the oil pump has no impact on the system or the unit, but the main engine must not be operated; The host must be heated to above 20 degrees while cycling, before it can be operated.
