Question: Which are the main companies that provide imported polymerization reactor technology currently in use in China? Thank you!
1. Tianjin Dagu Chemical uses the 108 m3 polymerization reactor technology from Japanese company Chisso; each reactor has a designed production capacity of 40,000 tons per year. A total of 10 such reactors were introduced in 4 phases, with two production lines – each line capable of producing 200,000 tons of PVC per year. Thus, the total PVC production capacity is 400,000 tons per year. The polymerization reactors are manufactured by Kobe Steel in Japan. This kettle has performed very well in Tianjin Dagu Chemical. 2. Shanghai Sensong Pressure Vessel Co., Ltd. is one of the six subsidiaries of Japanese company Sensong Industries Co., Ltd. It established itself in the Pudong Development Zone in 1990 as the first foreign-invested enterprise there, focusing on the production of pressure vessels and chemical equipment made from special materials; the manufacturing of polymerization reactors accounts for a small portion of the company’s business activities. They have fully introduced Japanese production equipment for stainless steel containers, as well as the advanced management and technology from Japanese companies such as Morisawa, which has provided a solid foundation for the development of the enterprise. Shanghai Sensong’s main raw materials and some components are imported from Japan, North America, and Europe, with Japanese experts on site to oversee the manufacturing process.
It seems that Qilu Chlor-Alkali and Shanghai Chlor-Alkali use 127m3 polymerization reactors produced by Shin-Etsu in Japan.
In addition to using Japanese Shin-Nippon 127m3 polymerization reactors, Qilu Chlor-Alkali also uses Japanese 135m3 polymerization reactors.
Currently, in China, some of the more representative companies capable of technology export include Beierhua’s American Goodrich technology, Tianjin Daguhua’s Japanese Chisso technology, and Shanghai Chlor-Alkali’s Japanese Shin-Etsu technology. The corresponding tank sizes are 70m3, 108m3, and 127–136m3; meanwhile, the Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Engineering Design Institute is working together with the French company AkzoNobel to promote the 136m3 tank technology.
