Tapered pipe threads are sealed pipe threads that can prevent leakage without the need for packing or sealing materials, and they are typically used under high temperature and pressure conditions ; Cylindrical pipe threads require the use of packing, etc.; typically, PTFE is wrapped around them on-site or seals and gaskets are used ; Tapered external threads and cylindrical internal threads can also be used together as sealing pipe threads, for pressures up to 5 bar.
