Plug welding is an option; the spacing should be determined based on actual conditions. First, it is necessary to ensure that the stainless steel plate and the lining plate are in close contact after plug welding – welding deformation can cause the steel plate to warp, creating a gap between the two plates, so more plug weld points need to be added to keep them in contact. Second, the stress conditions must also be taken into consideration to verify that they meet the requirements.
The plug welding spacing for our vacuum equipment is 350–450 mm; the exact value depends on the actual conditions. Generally, higher requirements are placed on plug welding in vacuum environments, as the weld points are subject to considerable stress
