Question: What are the capital investment and floor area required for a 100,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide production plant? I found online that a facility with a capacity of 100,000 tons would require 80 mu of land – is it really that large?
It depends on your gas source, such as hydrogen, steam, air, circulating water, etc
Hydrogen is produced as a by-product of ion-exchange membrane caustic production. The company has its own power plant; if the demand for recycled water is low, the existing system can be used, but if it is high, a new one can be installed. An air compressor also needs to be installed.
No such large area is needed; including packaging and air compressors, 10 mu of land is sufficient

The pressure of hydrogen generated as a by-product in ion-exchange membrane caustic production is low; therefore, a washing tower, gas holder, and hydrogen compressor are required. The pressure at the top of the hydrogenation tower for hydrogen peroxide is not to exceed 0.35 MPa. Over-temperature occurs during the first stage of compression, while two-stage compression is feasible; The air volume requirement is 2600 Nm³/h; one compressor (powered by 10KV direct voltage) is sufficient. For utility systems, a 15t/h pure water plant, an air compression station with a capacity of 18,000 Nm3/h (powered by 2000 KW at 10 KV), a nitrogen generation unit with a capacity of 150 Nm3/h, and a low-temperature water plant with a capacity of 100 m3/h are required. The circulating water volume needed is 1,000 t/h, with high and low pressure levels. The installed capacity of the main hydrogen peroxide production unit is approximately 1700 KW. A new substation is to be built. Preliminary estimate: The hydrogen peroxide main plant and the tank area for packaging occupy 16 mu, utility facilities cover 8 mu, while roads and landscaping take up 10 mu, for a total of 34 mu. An investment of about 150 million is required.
For just a hydrogen peroxide production facility, 20 mu is sufficient – including the main processing area, utility facilities, finished product area, and raw material area
