I would like to ask if there is any technology for oxygen-enriched combustion using sulfur-based devices. Is there anyone with practical experience in this area? Please share your insights
Oxygen-enriched combustion technology is generally not used very often; I’m not sure either. I’ll hold your place – those who know about it please share the relevant information.
Literally speaking, it seems to be a method aimed at situations where the hydrogen sulfide content in acidic gases is not high, and which uses oxygen-enriched combustion to increase the temperature of the main reaction furnace; I’m not sure if that’s correct!
Oxygen-enriched combustion is likely to be considered when the concentration of acidic gases is not high, or in order to reduce the amount of exhaust gas. For example, by introducing an additional stream of acidic gas into an existing installation and using oxygen-enriched air, it is possible to meet the requirements without making major changes to the equipment; however, a high level of oxygen is required, and the air supplied by the fans may contain oil, which can pose risks when mixed with oxygen
The oxygen-enriched process is designed for low concentrations of acidic gases; It can also increase the load on the device.
Oxygen-enriched combustion is used when the concentration of acidic gases is low, at less than 20%; in such cases, ordinary air is insufficient to maintain combustion, which can lead to flameout and lower furnace temperatures. By adding oxygen to the air to achieve an oxygen content of 45%-55%, combustion is promoted and the furnace temperature is increased, thereby preventing flameout. The acidic gases and sulfur dioxide are burned to a ratio of 2:1. This process is quite simple; it is important to pay attention to the operation of the water-epoxy compressor – start the fan first, then turn on the water-epoxy compressor while adjusting the mixture gradually. When shutting down, stop the water-epoxy compressor first, followed by the fan.
In coal chemical industry, sulfur recovery generally employs oxygen-enriched technology
The use of an oxygen-enriched process has the following advantages: first, it improves the processing capacity of the equipment without the need for any modifications to it; Secondly, it can increase the temperature in the reaction furnace, thereby raising the H2S conversion rate. Typically, the oxygen content is kept at around 28%, so that no changes are required to the burners or the corresponding air pipelines. Additionally, whether to adopt an oxygen-enriched process depends on the availability of oxygen-enriching resources. Currently, the coal chemical industry makes extensive use of oxygen-enriched or even pure oxygen processes, mainly because the concentration of acidic gases in these plants is relatively low.
Passing by, I learned that oxygen-enrichment technology can be utilized very effectively
We use pure oxygen combustion here! Additional combustion air is provided!
