For the stable operation of the urea production system, an appropriate level of ammonia consumption is necessary. Due to differences in management approaches, our factory’s workshop is responsible for managing the equipment and production processes, while the production scheduling department is in charge of regulating output levels and consumption. The production scheduling department aims for higher output with lower consumption, whereas the workshop focuses on maintaining stability in both processes and consumption levels. This is especially true in the urea production workshop, where there are disagreements with the production scheduling department regarding ammonia consumption. Sometimes, operators reduce ammonia consumption by compromising the established process parameters, which leads to instability in the system. The workshop establishes detailed rules regarding various parameters during shift changes, but this still does not ensure stable ammonia consumption. I think it’s difficult to answer this question, because it’s a common problem in chemical companies (I’m not sure if this is correct, but that’s my opinion); one can only find a balance between the two. As far as workshop management is concerned, the only approach is to strengthen assessments in all areas in order to keep this phenomenon to a minimum.
Management: Only by strengthening the management system can it function properly.
Strengthen the assessment of consumption, including linking production volume, ammonia consumption, steam consumption, and product quality, and conducting evaluations on a proportional basis. Link consumption metrics to wages; when consumption is high, one goes and looks for the reasons.

Relying on altering the process parameters in the urea production unit to reduce consumption is not a viable approach.

To avoid this situation, in addition to leadership guidance, what is crucial is the establishment and improvement of systems. In fact, as is well known, in chemical production, the key lies in long operation cycles for the equipment, full production capacity, stable system operation, and optimized process parameters – in other words, \"longevity, full capacity, stability, and optimization.\" By achieving these objectives, the goals of the workshop and production scheduling can be met. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen shift handover management, establish relevant systems, and enforce them strictly; I believe this will help avoid such issues.
Through communication with all parties and the achievement of a consensus, it is possible to stabilize production, boost yields, and achieve low consumption. Regardless of which side, the ultimate goal is the same; it’s just that the focus differs. In production, it’s impossible for there to be multiple paths leading to Rome; there is only one path to take, and this must be recognized by all aspects of production. During the production process, it is far from advisable to pursue high yields by replacing equipment; it is necessary to follow the laws of production. In implementing the above approach, it’s not about driving a safety car; rather, it’s about maintaining the right balance. In many companies, the urea production system is operated at higher capacity when there is some ammonia available in the ammonia storage tank, and the output is reduced when the amount of liquid ammonia in the tank is low. In practice, maintaining a certain dynamic balance in the ammonia synthesis and urea production processes is beneficial for controlling the overall consumption of the entire plant
Stable production is the primary condition for fertilizer companies to achieve high yields with low consumption; therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the assessment of various indicators related to shift handovers in order to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and prevent mutual manipulation among them.
