Does the maximum working pressure of the tube side of the floating head heat exchanger refer to the highest working pressure of the tube side or the highest working pressure of the selected tube or shell side?
The tube side pressure of the floating head heat exchanger is not the maximum working pressure, but the test pressure of the heat exchanger, which can be calculated according to GB151. However, the tube head pressure should be the higher of the shell side test pressure, and the tube side test pressure is determined separately.
It is best to follow the requirements of the design drawings. If there is no clarity or no information can be found, it should be determined based on the on-site conditions. At least the test pressure on the pipe side must be tested. If the pressure on the pipe side is lower than the shell side, if the pressure on the shell side is tested, it must be seen whether the components on the pipe side can withstand it. The weakest link must be used to determine based on design calculations. Otherwise, you need to re-equip the components with corresponding pressure levels to test the pressure.
