What calculations and decisions are necessary for determining pipe diameters, pipe fittings, equipment sizes, and process flow? Also, how should the requirements related to instrumentation be submitted to the instrumentation team? Thank you for your advice

What stage is the design of this project at: feasibility study? preliminary design? detailed design? overall design? 3. If the depth is low, more work needs to be done; if the depth is sufficient, less work is required.

For small projects, if the owner provides the technology (basic design or preliminary design), it seems that only the process flow needs to be specified, along with detailed engineering designs for equipment layout, piping layout, etc. This situation is particularly applicable to the batch processes of small-scale chemicals such as fine chemicals.
