Our factory produces persulfate products, which are white solid powders packaged in 25kg bags. Currently, the lab technicians use stainless steel spoons to take samples. What is the best sampling tool for them to use?
When using a stainless steel spoon for sampling, your concern is contamination; it should be fine. Observe for some time and then analyze whether the sample has been contaminated. A stainless steel spoon will work just fine, or you can use an antler spoon. What was said on the 2nd floor is right; comparative experiments can be conducted to confirm this.
It is also possible to use a circular tube sampling tube with a tapered head.

For our pharmaceutical companies, stainless steel samplers are generally used; sampling must be carried out in accordance with the established SOPs, and it has to be done by QA personnel – sampling performed by other staff is not valid
To create a conical steel tube groove, simply pierce it without having to open the packaging bag. Slots are easier to clean than tubes, preventing cross-contamination.

Use a shorter sampling drill that does not react with the sample. It can be pulled from top to bottom.
Take a sample from the bag; if not all of it is poured out, a stainless-steel sampling tool with grooves should be used to collect samples from the upper, middle, and lower parts so as to ensure representativeness. If samples are taken from the top and bottom, how can they be obtained?
The factory where I used to work produced NaSCN, batch by batch; each bag contained 200 kilograms of the substance, and it tended to absorb moisture and clump together easily. It was also cut in half diagonally using a PVC pipe and a chainsaw, and it works well. In general, in production processes, it’s not desirable to puncture the bags to take samples, especially for products that are prone to absorbing moisture; this will result in a higher moisture content when the materials are inspected at the recipient’s facility. Moreover, the woven bags also need to be included in the cost calculations. As a workaround, after each production shift, analysts randomly select several bags; samples are taken from the opening of these bags and then the workers seal them immediately.
