Hello everyone: Why is a control valve installed on the cold material return line of the cooler?
I think it’s related to your manufacturing process; it might be used to control the amount of material added
This issue has already been studied. First, there is pressure in the condenser to facilitate heat exchange. Second, it facilitates control by control valves.
It mainly serves the following functions: 1. It regulates the temperature of the hot material by controlling the flow rate of the cold material; otherwise, the temperature of the hot material would be uncontrollable. 2. According to the principle of heat transfer, higher pressure facilitates heat transfer. Therefore, placing the control valve on the return line helps to maintain the pressure of the cold material (which would otherwise drop after the cold material enters the cooler if the valve were located on the feed pipe), thereby facilitating heat transfer and thus enabling cooling or condensation.

Cold materials usually flow in from below and out from above; we typically place the control valve on the incoming stream in order to regulate the temperature of the hot materials, preventing the temperature from dropping too low after the hot materials cool down, which could lead to crystallization or blockages in the pipes.
