The main components of a screw air compressor are the screw compressor head and the oil-gas separation tank. The screw compressor head draws in air through an intake filter and an intake control valve; oil is also injected into the air compression chamber to cool the head while lubricating the screw and bearings. Compressed air is generated as a result of this compression process. The compressed oil-gas mixture is then discharged into the oil-gas separation cylinder. Under the action of mechanical centrifugal force and gravity, the vast majority of the oil is separated from the oil-gas mixture. Subsequently, the air passes through the oil-gas separation core, and almost all of the oil mist is separated out. The oil separated from the core of the oil-gas separation cylinder returns to the screw compressor through the oil return pipe. To minimize losses of compressed air, a throttle valve is installed on the oil return pipe; only the oil that has been filtered can flow back into the interior chamber of the screw compressor after passing through the filter. After the oil is separated, the compressed air passes through the minimum pressure control valve and exits the oil-gas separation tank to enter the after-cooler, where it is cooled to a temperature 7–10°C higher than the ambient temperature before being discharged. The minimum pressure control valve maintains the minimum pressure required for startup and for oil circulation during normal operation. Due to the check valve on the minimum pressure control valve, external compressed air cannot enter the oil-gas separation tank.
