I am currently working on a project involving outer pipes, but my expertise lies in piping work... I would like to ask everyone: does a pipe tunnel that is 300 to 500 meters long need to have a slope? Is it acceptable if I don’t include a slope in my design? Thank you
It should have a slope according to the specifications; if not, enough drainage outlets must be provided.

There are a total of 60+ pipes on the pipe rack; only one of them is for steam, while the rest are material pipes, all of which are equipped with pipe cleaning devices
Whether a slope is needed depends not on the length of the conduit or the number of pipes in it, but mainly on whether there are any pipelines carrying media for which strict slope requirements apply. Such pipelines include those with high medium viscosity, those carrying media containing solid particles or suspensions, those with a pressure of less than 0.3 MPa or those transporting media by gravity flow, as well as those with strict requirements regarding the pressure of the media at the outlet end, and so on. The slope is then determined based on the requirements of each type of medium. Pipelines for steam and similar substances do not necessarily need to have a slope; installing drain pipes at the lowest points is sufficient.

For pipelines with gas-liquid two-phase flow, such as flare main lines, a slope is necessary. The slope is generally between 0.2% and 0.5%, and this can be achieved using pipe supports.
The slope for pipeline installation, when not specified in the design, shall comply with the following requirements: (1) For hot water heating pipelines in which gas and water flow in the same direction, as well as for steam pipelines and condensate pipelines in which gas and water flow in the same direction, the slope shall be 3 ‰, and it must not be less than 2 ‰; (2) For hot water heating pipes in which gas and water flow in opposite directions, as well as for steam pipes with opposite-flow gas and water, the slope should be no less than 5 ‰. (3) The slope of the branches leading to the radiators should be 1%, and the slope direction should facilitate exhaust and drainage.
Create some slope using pipe supports; 0.2% is sufficient. Drainage points must be provided, and they need to be distributed reasonably.
Only after reading it do I understand what it means. We didn’t pay attention to whether there is a slope in the pipelines within our factory; it’s likely impossible to tell either. Utility tunnels generally have no slope; the slope of the pipes can be adjusted by modifying the pipe supports.
A slope is supposed to be present according to the rules, but its value is often on the low side; it’s difficult to detect visually. However, this can be achieved using pipe supports – simply follow the requirements set by sunnykrc. However, I would like to emphasize that in practice, many drawings do not specify this, but many factories use parallel U-shaped tubes to achieve this; the height difference is usually around 2 meters, and backflow is used to facilitate the process. There is often some resistance, but a main pipeline is necessary

The pipe rack does not need to be designed with a slope; sloped piping is determined by the requirements of the manufacturing process, and it has nothing to do with the length of the pipe rack or the piping.
The type of design we use is one that adjusts the slope of the pipes through pipe supports.
Under normal circumstances, the pipe tray is not given a slope; depending on the medium being transported, no slope is required either in the absence of specific requirements. It is sufficient to ensure that the lower points are drained and the higher points are vented properly. If a slope is needed, pipe supports can be used for adjustment.
Personally, I don’t think a slope is necessary, because for a tunnel of this length, it’s inevitable that it needs to pass over roads and cross road trusses; not all the pipes in the tunnel are above the lowest level of those trusses. Even if there were a slope in the tunnel, not all the materials inside the pipes would be able to take advantage of it
