What distillation are you asking about? Different products have different components.
Are you referring to the regeneration tower, or the methanol-water separation tower?
Above the feed inlet of the distillation column is the distillation section, while below the feed inlet is the stripping section. The function of the distillation section is to gradually increase the concentration of the volatile components in the gas phase from bottom to top, that is, to concentrate the light components. The function of the stripping section is to gradually increase the concentration of the poorly volatile components, that is, the concentrated heavy components, in the liquid phase from top to bottom. In methanol distillation, the boiling point of methanol is used as the boundary to distinguish between light and heavy components. Substances with a boiling point lower than that of methanol are considered light components, such as dimethyl ether and propanol, while substances with a boiling point higher than that of methanol are regarded as heavy components, such as ethanol, n-butanol, and water.
I think the quality of distillation depends mainly on controlling the operating temperature. When operating a distillation tower, it is necessary to take into account the temperature difference of the working medium, and select the optimal operating temperature within that range. Too high a temperature is not good for distillation, and too low a temperature is also not favorable for it~
