I would like to ask everyone: What is the structure of a soda ash tower? Low inflow and high outflow for liquid monomers? Under what circumstances will alkali solution be entrained? Does it have a significant impact on polymerization?
Previously, packed towers were used, but the results were poor; there was definitely solid alkali entrainment.
A low-in, high-out process is used; it seems that entrainment is not significant, as there is no noticeable alkalinity when water is discharged into the monomer tank, and this has no obvious impact on the polymerization process. Method adopted: Ensure sufficient settling time in the monomer tank. If we are to talk about entrainment, it might occur to some extent under overload conditions.
The fact that no alkalinity is detected when draining water from the monomer tank does not mean that there is no alkali present, as a small amount of acidic substances are generated during the distillation of VCM.
This simply means that there is little alkali left by the polymerization stage, so it should have no effect on the polymerization reaction.

The structure of a solid-alkali dryer is generally such that material enters from the bottom and exits from the top (low inlet, high outlet).
