What is the best method for measuring the liquid level in the high-pressure boiler drum? Originally, a float level gauge was used
Please, experts, give me an answer. It’s okay to discuss it too.
We use dual-flange differential pressure transmitters. Before use, the level of the instrument is calibrated by comparing it with the glass-level gauge on site; during normal operation, the level instrument functions properly.
On-site, two glass plate level gauges are used, along with two electric contact level gauges.
A company in Jilin produces magnetic float and bull’s-eye composite level gauges that perform very well. The bull’s-eye level gauge designed by them has a unique structure; it is not prone to leakage and is easy to maintain. Normally, the magnetic float type is used, while the bull’s-eye level gauge is switched to during calibration, which also helps to prevent scaling on the bull’s-eye level gauge
Two on-site level gauges (two-color glass level gauges and magnetic flap level gauges) and three capacitive level gauges are used; the capacitive level gauges replace the previous measurement method based on differential pressure transmitters and two-chamber balance tanks. No insulation is required for outdoor installation, and it requires no maintenance during the boiler’s pressure building up and water filling process. It also features three levels of liquid level compensation for the vapor-liquid phase and mixed phase, resulting in a fast reaction rate – quite good.
