I was given a project, which is a 10-ton chain furnace wet flue gas desulfurization project. Now we have reached the final step of sludge sedimentation, but I’ve searched through many resources and still couldn’t find any information on sludge sedimentation. I would like to ask, if gravity settlement is used entirely, how many settlement chambers are required? How much settling time is required? (His original sedimentation tank was 5600×8100.) What I usually see are relatively simple systems that use sedimentation tanks, after which the sludge is separated out.
It relies entirely on gravity for sedimentation; the sedimentation equipment is large, occupies a lot of space, and the sedimentation process takes a long time, which is not very advantageous for continuous production. Why doesn’t the original poster use methods such as filtration or centrifugal separation?

What confuses me now is how to determine the volume of the sedimentation tank. The desulfurization method we use is our company’s patented technology called “Turbocharged Turbulence.” Its desulfurization efficiency is much higher than that of methods using water films or fillers; once a turbulent flow field is established, it achieves a desulfurization efficiency of over 90%. Consider using an inclined tube sedimentation tank – it works well. You can calculate the required sedimentation time based on the particle size, and then determine the length of the tank according to the flow velocity of the water
