Issues with CS3000 BUS interface model EB501

In the CS3000, the BUS interface model EB501 features remote contact redundancy, but it is always the EB501 card on the power supply side that triggers the alarm. It recovers momentarily before failing again; the reason for this is unknown. Additionally, its status light is green, and it lights up both when receiving and sending data, or sometimes only the reception light lights up – it’s not clear whether this status light indicates a normal condition There’s always a red cross on the FCS screen; I don’t know how to deal with it. Please advise, experts

A red cross on the FCS screen always indicates that this card is not functioning properly! The redundant cards from Yokogawa have one drawback. To give an example, if the AO card is redundant and there is a short circuit in the field wiring, it will indicate that the operating card has failed, and the other card will take over to operate. Moreover, you can’t reset or start it using software; you have to remove the card and insert it again for normal redundancy to be achieved! :handshake
