With about 180 modules from Allen-Bradley, 6-7 of them (some channels) fail each year; there is a difference between imported and domestic products, and the quality of service is also inferior. In recent years, ABB’s DCS system has been used; its modules tend to break down, with either one module or several channels failing at a time. The cost of repairing a single channel ranges from 400 to 500 yuan, and payment must be made in cash first. The price of a module is around 5,000 yuan (all models are of level 8), while the cost for engineering services is much lower. If a domestically produced module breaks, how do people solve that problem?
When encountering similar problems, the first step is to contact the DCS manufacturer to seek a solution. Another option is to ask for help from some agents. Additionally, one can rely on the spare parts inventory maintained by the company itself to implement timely replacement measures; this approach involves centralized procurement, which results in relatively lower costs, as a precaution for unexpected situations.

Relatively speaking, it’s still cheaper to repair it! It is recommended that you consider spare parts from the start when introducing a new DCS system, as purchasing them separately will definitely be much more expensive! I don’t know how to repair domestically produced card components, but it is said that foreign ones need to go through the production process again on an assembly line; the cost is very high, almost as much as buying new ones! :Generally, if a handshake mechanism fails, it should be replaced first; if there are 5 or more such mechanisms, contact the manufacturer for repair! :handshake
If less than 1/3 of the channels on a card are damaged, the channels should be transferred to a healthy card; only when more than 1/3 of the channels on a card are damaged is it permissible to replace that card for repair. In future bidding processes, this should be taken into account – winning bids at low prices indeed has negative consequences. Additionally, engineering capability is indeed a factor that needs to be given careful consideration. In the end, it’s still a competition for talent.
A module at 8 o’clock costs around 5,000 – that’s way too expensive. When we signed the contract initially, we agreed on a discount for spare parts, the same discount as that in the contract; moreover, during the warranty period, they are replaced free of charge, no matter what the reason
