Theoretically, as long as the temperature is above the freezing point and the medium is in continuous flow, it will not freeze. Engineering design requires taking many factors into consideration. 1 Is the fuel oil contaminated with water? If water is present, the transfer temperature must be above 0 degrees Celsius. 2 The composition of fuel oil is not constant, and it is necessary to determine the possible lowest freezing point of the fuel oil. 3 On this basis, it is necessary to know the lowest average temperature of the coldest month in the local meteorological data; if this lowest average temperature is above the freezing point, transportation should not present any problems. 4 For safety, it is also a good idea to install steam tracing along the delivery pipes, to prevent them from breaking or getting clogged due to freezing in winter.
