Considering the use of a canned motor pump for transporting light hydrocarbons, with a flow rate of 5 m3/h and a head of 400 m, I would like to know what size motor is required for this application? When transporting light hydrocarbons, the net positive suction head of the pump must be taken into consideration; for a head of 400 meters, a multi-stage pump should be used, and vertical sac pump is recommended
The original poster is asking for a pump with a head of 400 meters and a flow rate of 5 units – these are quite challenging parameters for ordinary centrifugal pumps, and even more difficult to achieve with canned pumps. I hope it will be possible to buy such a pump, haha. As for power, it can be calculated by multiplying flow rate by head by 1/360, and then dividing by efficiency. It is estimated that the efficiency of this pump will not exceed 20%, so the motor power must be at least 35 kW or more
Shielded pumps are commonly used for light hydrocarbons; if the head required is 400 meters, multi-stage pumps may need to be considered. The flow rate is 5 cubic meters; the specific power calculation has been provided on the 2nd floor.
