Technologies to improve efficiency in steam injection recovery of heavy oil. In the middle and later stages of thermal recovery in heavy oil fields, factors such as long pumping and flooding cycles, low reservoir pressures, and abundant water content underground result in a low oil-to-gas ratio as well as a low production-toInjection ratio during steam injection recovery. After switching from pumping and flooding to steam flooding, an economically viable oil-to-gas ratio cannot be achieved, making it difficult to further increase oil recovery rates. This project developed enhancers that increase the driving energy of the reservoir, expand the volume affected by steam, and improve oil displacement efficiency. Numerical modeling studies were conducted, construction parameters were optimized, production enhancement effects were predicted, and the construction processes were refined. I. Application status: This technology has been tested in 53 wells in the Henan Oilfield, with a 100% effectiveness rate. The oil-to-gas ratio increased by an average of 146%, the oil production to injection ratio increased by an average of 144%, and the recovery rate improved by 7–13 percentage points. A total of 25,367.7 tons of oil have been recovered as a result.
