With the blending of oil sources, it is currently very difficult to address the desalination issue when processing Tarim crude oil on its own.
Measures such as screening demulsifiers suitable for the Tahe oil phase, increasing the residence time, raising the water injection volume, increasing the electric field strength, and finding an appropriate desalination temperature
It can be improved, but it’s difficult to solve – the level is too high, and the oil is heavy. The water obtained from the extraction of crude oil in the Tahe Oil Field contains 200,000 milligrams per liter of salt; it is estimated that this level is nearing saturation. Even light crude oil has a high salt content. The condensate stabilization units designed by our unit had to stop operating several times for salt removal due to the high salt content in the condensate. l
