When the molecular sieve is switched, there are two main reasons for the fluctuations: 1. During pressure equalization, the pressure equalization valve opens, allowing some air to enter the molecular sieve; this reduces the amount of air entering the tower, causing pressure fluctuations in the tower and resulting in an excessively high nitrogen content in the argon tower. Solution: During pressure equalization, the guide vanes of the air compressor should be automatically adjusted to increase the air intake. The molecular sieve should be used for stepwise pressure equalization, so as to ensure that the equalization process occurs slowly until full opening is achieved, thereby reducing pressure fluctuations in the tower. If there is sufficient funds, and without considering the cost of the equipment (cost-effectiveness), it is possible to add another set of purifiers on top of the existing two, thereby extending the pressurization time and reducing pressure fluctuations, which can improve the purity of the product. Pay attention to the air leakage issue that occurs with the switching valve during switching; if there is no such leakage, then extend the pressure equalization time
Temporarily, the pressure of the air compressor can be adjusted in advance during pressure equalization to ensure smooth pressure equalization. The fundamental issue lies with the pressure equalizing valve; it needs to be readjusted so that there is a linear relationship between the valve’s opening degree and the pressure equalization value, and simultaneously, a linear relationship exists between the valve’s opening degree and the pressure equalization time.
By extending the equalization time, the impact of multiple argon extractions is reduced. (Extending the time means increasing the amount of molecular sieve that needs to be used.) )
Key issues: 1. When equalizing pressure in the molecular sieves, are the guide vanes operated manually or automatically? 2. The relationship between the opening degree of the equalization valve and time is not satisfactory. 3. If the equalization valve opens too quickly or to an excessive degree, it can cause fluctuations in the amount of air entering the molecular sieves, which in turn affects the argon fraction in the main tower; this can lead to nitrogen plugging during operation. It is necessary to continuously adjust the relationship between the opening degree of the equalization valve and time. The maximum opening degree for this valve is 30%, with an equalization time of 15 minutes and a connected operation time of 5 minutes. Our facility has a capacity of 40,000 standard cubic meters of oxygen per hour.
The pressure equalizing valve increases the opening by 1%, thereby extending the time required for voltage rise and alignment!
