Dear colleagues, our company is carrying out technical upgrades related to hydrogen treatment; in order to facilitate control, we are replacing the original manual return valve with a DN150 size with an automatically controlled valve. Currently, we have automatically controlled valves of DN100 in stock, and I need to determine whether these DN100 valves can meet the process requirements. What should I do? For the hydrogen compressor’s own reflux, there is no need to use a control valve; setting up a reflux mechanism in the hydrogen system is sufficient
The DN100 version should work fine, but it’s difficult to adjust manually when the load is changing! It is recommended to use a larger control valve, as that would be more reliable!
Oh! I made a mistake; there is backflow in the hydrogen system. The backflow on the hydrogen compressor is used for starting and stopping the system, and there is no need to install an automatic control valve. I’m sorry!
The hydrogen compressor system has two types of return flows: 1. The main return flow, which returns to the inlet main pipe via the distribution station; this is usually automatic. 2. A small-bore automatic control valve can be purchased additionally, and the original automatic control valve and this new one can use a two-stage control scheme. The valves are too large, making it difficult to control the pressure, and they are also expensive.
A valve of 100 is enough! As other poster mentioned, changing it to an automatic valve doesn’t offer much benefit; in some cases it’s not even better than a manual valve. If a pneumatic valve is used here, high precision is required of the valve itself! You guys are so extravagant....
We use Siemens products; the separator for the hydrogen compressor to the pump inlet is also automated
