I don’t know much about long-distance transmission systems. I have a question: does the storage and transportation specialty still require the preparation of PFDs? For relatively clean fluids, is a pigging system still necessary? Are oil removal filters still installed at the outlets of compressors used in long-distance transmission systems these days? Especially in recent years, compressors have adopted labyrinth seals. Lubricating oil can be used either under pressure or without pressure, but currently, pressure-free emulsified oil is more commonly used. It is basically impossible for lubricating oil to enter the fluid being transported by the compressor; or gas seals may be used, and unless there is a failure in the gas seal, it is almost impossible for lubricating oil to get into the fluid being pumped. Long-distance pipelines definitely require pigging devices
Pigging is necessary, and check valves to prevent backflow are also required
The heating device might still be needed

A filter should be installed at the inlet side, and a check valve at the outlet side
The previous answer was correct; it seems the original poster has just graduated from university. University textbooks provide good theoretical knowledge but lack practical application. It is recommended to read the books by Huang Chunfang, published by Sinopec Press in 2008 and 2009. I believe that after reading them, you will be able to handle pipeline technology management tasks quite quickly.
Teacher Huang, I have already purchased your two books and have basically finished reading them. I am not very familiar with the design of long-distance pipeline systems; I have just switched from chemical engineering design to long-distance system design. However, I do have some basic knowledge regarding the use of check valves at pump outlets. I hope Teacher Huang can share some practical experience from his work in engineering
I would also like to learn about long-distance pipelines.
